Colorado Online Libraries

Free Library Websites from the Colorado State Library

How it works

The Colorado State Library will build, host, and maintain your website for you, at no cost to you.

Have a custom domain? That’s great–we can help you configure your domain record.

Want to build or maintain your site yourselves? Also great. Most of our websites use WordPress, an easy-to-use content management system. We can train your staff, and will always be just a phone call or e-mail away if you need any additional support.

What’s not included

Although you will have full administrative control over the website, you won’t have FTP or command-line access to the server, nor access to the database via phpMyAdmin or similar. If you need something uploaded to the server beyond what you can do via the website admin functions, you can ask us to help you.

Who is eligible

Any library in Colorado is welcome to apply. For most libraries, the process is simple and quick–your new website could be ready in about a week, depending on how much content you have and what functionality you’d like the site to have.
